Nida is a resort town visited by around 50 000 tourists every summer. The town is located on the sea shore extending two kilometers from the south to the north. Its southern part reaches Parnidžio bay, and the northern part runs into the sands of Bulvikio promontory.

Nida has huge dunes (the most famous is Parnidžio dune with a sundial), a lighthouse of Urbas hill, fisherman's ethnographical museum, amber galerry-museum, a Mary's Christian Help Church (serves the whole Neringa), a Lutheran church (built in 1888), beside which there is an old churchyard where you can see wooden grave markers called krikstai.

Nida has a historical museum, Thomas Mann culture centre which has the status of a museum (it has an interesting exposition and hosts various events), Amber Gallery which exhibits not only the works of artists made of amber, but also amber archaeological findings. In Nida ethnographical museum you can get acquainted with everyday life and culture of local people, traditional occupations such as fishing, crow catching and other. Here you can find old houses and villas belonging to the turn of the XX century. At the lagoon shore there is a harbour, a boat jetty and a yacht club.
